MRI radiotherapy planning

Home MRI Abdomen / Pelvis Anus

High-quality images without radiation – only magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can do that. For individual planning of radiation therapy, in particular radiation dose and radiation field, an MRI is performed for many diseases (e.g. prostate cancer, tongue cancer, etc.).

Questionnaire

You will need: Assignment (detailed brief), previous images/findings, completed questionnaires.

All metallic objects (including jewelry) must be taken off (magnet). You will be examined in a tube with a diameter of approx. 70cm, the examination couch will be moved slightly again and again, please remain very still. During the examination, loud knocking noises can be heard, which is why you will be given headphones. Please be sure to follow the breathing commands. An emergency balloon and constant visual contact will allow you to make yourself heard at any time if needed. The examination lasts between 10-60 minutes.

Depending on the examination, it may be necessary to administer a contrast medium via a vein in your arm. As this is excreted via the kidneys, you will need a current creatinine value (can also be determined by us before the examination).

These examinations are provided by Diagnoseinstitut Alsergrund GmbH. These examinations are to be paid privately and can be submitted to a supplementary insurance/private insurance.

Prostate Care Center

In Austria, nearly 5,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. This makes prostate cancer – together with lung cancer – one of the most common cancers in men over the age of 50.

The causes of its development and risk factors (genetic predisposition) are still largely unknown. However, it is possible to detect the malignant tumor at an early stage within the framework of preventive examinations.

Within a very short time, you and your treating urologist will receive a clear and reliable diagnosis from us thanks to the latest and gentle technologies on a scientifically established basis. We will be happy to accompany you from the first suspicion to the diagnosis and, if necessary, through the therapy to the aftercare.
